Kyla Scanlon shows up regularly in my video feeds, across both TikTok and YouTube, so when I saw she wrote a book -- thanks to a Hank Green interview -- I requested it from my Library on Libby. I was pleasently surprised to see that she read the book, which as a personality I trust I appreciated her giving voice to her words; it lended an air of credibility.

The economics in the book are solid, at least to a normie economics nerd like myself. I appreciate that, similar to the Marketplace radio show/podcast a running theme of "The Stock Market is not The Economy, People are the Economy", focusing on how the economy fails people but how it can serve people better.

Over all I think it's a sold introduction to economics for folks looking to get into the topic. It is a little dense compared to other pop-sci-type books, but much much much lighter than actual economics textbooks.
